What is botanical Illustration?
In contrast to painting flowers, botanical illustration is created for scientific purposes. A visual guide usually accompanied with text, to accurately identify and record plants and fungi. (Tyrell.2015). It’s far easier to identify plants from a highly detailed illustration than a lengthy text. The Practices aren’t just a scientific process but a method of communication. (Westlake.2019)
